Why School?

Schools generate a great deal of waste, especially as a by-product of food service. Many, of course, have some sort of recycling program in place. The challenge to schools is to make waste management a viable and even exciting part of the total learning experience. According to investigation and research, nearly ¾ of our school rubbish bin contents could be either recycled or turned into valuable compost.

All Education Is Environmental Education

Including waste management in the suite of learning outcomes empowers students to consider their personal habits and shared responsibilities in terms of the whole school and the greater community. What is important is how students perceive this recycling and the district’s commitment to include waste management in the learning process.

Waste Management Can Be an Important Part of the Curriculum

Waste management, properly incorporated in a school’s curriculum, teaches many lessons. School site routines in the cafeteria, classroom, and playground may include activities related to recycling, composting, and material reuse that naturally lead students to understanding the need to conserve natural resources. Students can play a role in conducting a waste audit of the cafeteria, leading to curriculum and experiential learning opportunities about energy use and nutrient cycling

Climate change is any long-term change in the patterns of average weather of a specific region or the Earth as a whole. Climate change reflects abnormal variations to the Earth's climate and subsequent effects on other parts of the Earth, such as in the ice caps over durations ranging from decades to millions of years. In recent usage, climate change usually refers to changes in modern climate.

Climate change is the result of a great many factors including the dynamic processes of the Earth itself, external forces including variations in sunlight intensity, and more recently by human activities. External factors that can shape climate are often called climate forcing and include such processes as variations in solar radiation, deviations in the Earth's orbit, and the level of greenhouse gas concentrations. There are a variety of climate change feedbacks that will either amplify or diminish the initial forcing.

The selected project plan is a very low lying ground. Climate change and floods exacerbated by global warming in the last few years has set in motion the rise in sea water levels. The shallow sea bed and the fact that water coming down from the upper rivers can not escape when the water level rises have contribute to the severe flooding of the selected place.

Smoking is cool? When I was sixteen, I was a smoker. Smoking was an integral part of my life. I was addicted and dazed with smokes.

Smoking, I once believed, makes me look cool and glamorous. Efforts to stop me from smoking were in vain. Parents tried to penetrate my thoughts, tried to convince me by telling me how smoking influence my present and future. I, a convinced smoker, strongly believe that all those pitfalls were nonexistent.

Twenty two months ago, I was diagnosed with throat diseases, the result of smoking. I am alive but maimed. I have difficulty of speaking. I have the excruciating difficulty swallowing and breathing. This disease has changed my life. I accepted the inevitable. This disease has taught me the hardest lesson I have ever learned.

This disease has urged me to quit. I have not smoked for twenty two years now. Day by day, the only thing left to do is hope and pray. I exercised. My determination is beyond all disputes. I have exercised for almost two years, without missing even one day. For that intended, and almost certain never to be used situation has changed my life. The impossible has happened. I received word that I was recovering.

Today, I can gasp for air without using any suctioning device. I go to school everyday. I want to do everything I can to undo the damage I have done to my family. Their devotions and noble endeavors will always be my remembrance. Quitting smoking has rejuvenated my career.

I think smoking should be as illegal as heroin. I am now no longer a smoker. I do not wish my fate upon anyone.
